Beschreibung

For the heavy-ion superconducting synchrotron SIS100, the main accelerator of the future particle accelerator complex FAIR, currently under construction at Darmstadt, Germany, a multitude of various ultra-high vacuum chambers and components are being designed and have to be procured. In the straight sections of sector 2 and sector 3 of SIS100, straight ultra-high vacuum tubes, corresponding adapter flanges as well as corrugated bellows are positioned between already procured accelerator components. All components must undergo a vacuum firing process. Customized bake-out jackets (with integrated thermal cut-out devices) are as well required for these vacuum components. Additionally, for the long straight beam vacuum tubes, customized chamber supports have to be designed as part of the order. Draft models for all components are being supplied.

Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT):- presentation of a concept of all specified factory acceptance tests: visual acceptance tests, mechanical acceptance tests, vacuum acceptance tests, measurement of magnetic permeability, detailed description of all measurement equipment and measurement methods The bidder must submit the planned sequence of all acceptance tests (visual and mechanical acceptance tests, vacuum acceptance tests including bake-out procedure and measurement of magnetic permeability). A positive evaluation will be given if measuring and auxiliary equipment required for this (e. g. vacuum set-up including employed vacuum components) and the planned measuring procedures are described in detail.

Quality management and quality assurance:- presentation of standardized quality management and quality assurance processes (engineering changes, non-conformities) - supervision of sub-contractors The description of the manufacturing facilities, the manufacturing processes and the approach to acceptance testing subsequent to manufacturing as well as the preparation of the complete documentation in the scope of a standardized Quality Assurance concept must be presented by the bidder; for instance, a standardized process for handling engineering change requests (ECRs) and non-conformity reports (NCRs) shall be presented. The supervision of all respective sub-contractors must be ensured.

Adherence to schedule:- presentation of a reliable production and delivery schedule A concise, stringent and complete presentation of the chronological project sequence with regard to ensuring the required delivery schedule must be evident. Early delivery will be evaluated positively.

General manufacturing concept:- design of models and technical drawings - presentation and description of the complete manufacturing process; description of all materials, semi-finished products, tools; declaration and supervision of all sub-contractors The vacuum components shall be designed on the basis of the provided draft models, the bidder will be responsible for the mechanical design and manufacturing of the components. Compliance with the design and data exchange guidelines and the possibility to perform mechanical calculations (corrugated bellow parameters) will be evaluated positively. The bidder shall describe all system components in detail as part of the technical concept and furthermore describe the complete development and manufacturing process. The reliable selection and procurement of raw materials (stainless steel, ...) shall be presented as well as all specific manufacturing tools (notably concerning vacuum firing), semi-finished products and measuring equipment. A positive assessment will be made if the bidder already anticipates any distinctive development and manufacturing details and how to comprehensibly handle them. All sub-contractors (for support structures, bake-out jackets, ...) shall be disclosed.
